BLACK
TURTLE BEANS

Black Turtle Beans: Our
beans are organically grown in Colorado. Black beans contain 6 grams
of fiber in a half-cup serving. Some of the healing powers of beans
may include lowering cholesterol, stabilizing blood sugar levels,
reducing risk of breast and prostate cancers and helping prevent heart
disease in people with diabetes.
Cooking Instructions:
Hand check 2 cups of beans and remove any broken beans or any objectionable
items and add to 6 cups of water. Bring to a boil. Drain the water
and wash the beans with clear cold water. Cover beans again with six
cups of water. Let sit over night. Season and boil until desired texture
is reached. The beans can be cooked without soaking but the finished
beans will not be as nice. For a really tasty treat add 4 chicken
bouillon cubes, a chopped onion, 2 chopped carrots, a chopped celery
spear, salt and pepper to the beans and let simmer until the beans
are the desired texture.
