What is SPELT? Spelt
is one of the older cereal grains known to man. It is estimated to
be over 9,000 years old; approximately 2,000 years older that the
oldest bread baking wheat. Spelt has a mild, nutty flavor which makes
it a favorite in whole grain breads. Spelt contains more protein,
fats, and crude fiber than wheat. It also contains special carbohydrates
which play a decisive role in blood clotting and stimulate the body's
immune system, so as to increase its resistance to infection.
Spelt Flour, Whole Grain White Sifted:
An organic all-purpose flour rich in protein and other nutrients.
The spelt flour is milled in such a way as to preserve as much of
the nutrients, vitamins and bran as possible. It may be tolerated
by people with wheat allergies.
